My lovely Rishu
I know its been long time since the last post and I promise you each time that I will be frequent in posting but I haven't. But I promise again, I will post frequently now. Due to my B/12 and D3 issues, my mind has become very lethargic. But ditch that! We have got more important things to talk about Master Rishabh Jain.
A picture of you and me a year and a half ago at a small Pizzeria! while waiting for the takeaway to get ready!
Biggest development recently, you got through school! it's a big deal to get into a good school. Your mom has been holding the fort on where to apply, where not to etc. We applied in 6 schools, near and far but 4 had not replied and the 5th one wrote a no letter - that was St Marys. Damn stupid people. They asked us to come to submit your documents to the school and then told us that they would like to meet us. So we had to wait with you the whole day for our number for the interview to come at 5.30 in the evening. You had already lost it by then. We went inside and you yelled at the teachers that you have been waiting the whole time. This is not the way And that sealed your fate at St Marys - ha ha ! which I think is a good thing. I will ask your mom to write more about the school episodes. But finally, you got through the school which was the school of our first choice but we were not sure we would get in as the school. They would either prefer you if your sibling was already in the school, your parents were alumni or you got lucky. At least that is what I am told by other parents whose kids are in that school. Yes, we got through BOMBAY SCOTTISH.
Waiting for the school bus with Anil
It's been about a month since you started and you are such a cool kid. No cranky-ness no fuss !! Initial few days your maa or I or dadi or Anil accompanied you to school in the school bus and accompanied you in the same bus back home! But it seemed that you were able to make it on your own!. Today you told me "Papa you don't come to drop me, I will go aap se aap!' But you love it when I come to pick you up at the bus stop. Many times I specifically come back from office just to pick you up and just because I promised to pick you up. One day I promised to pick you up and could not make it in time, you were very upset. I am so happy that you look forward to meeting us. Your school bus comes to pick you up and 7.35 am sharp and drops you home at 12.05 am sharp. They also have a GPS facility and information update facility which will send your mom 4 messages a day about your successful boarding, de-boarding and whereabout. The facility is yet to commence.
You have grown smarter and your talks just don't end. You started communicating quicker than I thought. We used to speak a lot to you. I am guessing that has helped too. But now, now you are making up stories like a pro and you are also a tattle tale sometimes. You have made 2 very good friends of your age here in Falcons. Your friend's names are Krishiv and Aayan. Your mumma is also good friends with their mothers.
Rishu and Krishiv! BFFs.
Sometimes they come home to play with you and sometimes you got to their homes. You are so so so excited when they come home. If I reach home from office early and they are there, you pull me in the house saying "papa see! see my friends have come! You are really a cute angel!. We are beginning to think that we should buy some place in the building itself- if we could get a 3 BHK. But what's bothering me is that in Mumbai, there are very limited grounds to play at and if there are, they are far away. All times of the day, the traffic is so bad that it is impossible to do an activity and come back in a decent hour. We live in one of the most prime business areas in Mumbai. People who know it, say we are living the lives of the privileged as we don't have to travel 1 hour each way each day to the office. Although our building premises has enough space, given how during my childhood I had access to grounds, I know what you are missing. I believe grounds helped me shape my personality. Now that there are no grounds, I am finding it difficult to find, what sport do you like or do you like any sport at all. I want to see to it that things that appeal to you, we get you to work on it to hone your skills. No pressure! Passions change with time. What may look appealing to you right now, you might give it up later when you grow up. I know it is a long way till we find what you love, till you find what you love. By each passing day, this is worrying me. I need to do something that you get access to grounds on everyday basis. I also sometimes feel that we should go and stay far if that could get you grounds. But that would mean our travel time to and from office will increase and like any other people in the city, we would get to see you only early mornings while you go to school or late nights when both your mom and I return. NOT ACCEPTABLE! But we are hopeful things will figure out eventually. They have until now. Like your school that was the top priority- that happened. Our current stay and proximity from office and many more things. I will surely cover this in detail later and remind me to do so. So, one thing at a time.
You are 4 years and 3 months old now and this is how you look. All thanks to Anil. All your best pictures that we have, have been clicked by him! He is a passionate man, your grandfather. Here is a latest that he clicked on you. You have grown up so big.
Rishu- by Anil
We bought a bicycle and you ride it like a pro. I am thinking of removing the support wheels now.
What else!! umm.... Did I tell you that last year in May we went to Manali and also this year to Mussorie? Oh! we had such a great time in Manali and also Mussorie. And you are a pro at traveling.
I will write a whole new post next on where all have we been to since you were born. For starters, you have been to the following places: Coimbatore (where you were born), Indore, Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, Singapore, Kullu, Manali, Mussorie, Chandigarh, Dharamsala, Gwalior, Baiguni, Gangtok, Bagdogra, Dalhousie, and Khajiar. I hope I am not missing anything. I want to make sure that you have traveled enough by the time you are grown up. I have many memories of my travels when I was a kid and I can never forget them. They are probably the fondest memories of my childhood. Your mom and I have demanding jobs, but I don't want it to come in the way of the experiences that I want you to have. So I have decided, every time I get a 2-3 day weekend, I will take you to some or the other city in India. You must know you belong to such a great civilization. What is it that you are made of. Being in Mumbai I admit, many people have not seen other parts of our country and they probably don't have the visibility on what they are missing. I don't want that to happen to you.
Okay, office time !! Got to go ! get back to you later. By the way, I bought a dictaphone to record your voice.
Bye
Papa !!
