Happy Birthday the 3rd

Rishuuuuuuuu... it was your 3rd birthday 10 days ago. I know i should have written much earlier but couple of things were going on in office and mom and I were amidst some important decisions. Will update you later on them. But now, we discuss what we did on your birthday!!. I am keeping this simple!

In the morning every body Dadi, Dadu.. sorry Anil, Mumma and Papa wished you and gave you lots of hugs and kisses. Both mumma and papa took their day off from office. Then we got you ready for the school and packed some lunch for your class mates. When you reached school we had a cake sent over so that you can cut it and share toffees with your classmates. I still have to get the birthday pictures from your school. Your teachers said, the food was perfect and all kids ate everything. Everybody loved it !

The you came back at 2 and played with Sanjana, your nanny for sometime while everyone was gearing for your birthday bash. We arranged your party in Milk, a nearby children's fun zone which you thoroughly enjoy! We invited 8 kids from the society along with their mothers. You are popular among the elder kids of the society as well but we kept it to your age group kids. You amamma and thatha flew in from Delhi to wish you. Guess what! all the kids turned up including your Adi Bhaia- your best friend these days. You follow him on everything. At home as well, you play with him, you run where he runs, you say what he says..haha ! its so much fun to watch. As expected you and Adi bhaia teamed up together at the fun zone and oh my!! so much fun you had. You were uncontrollable. Thats what we wanted; you to have a superb time. Then we cut the cake with the guests which was followed by snack. After about 4 hours of fun we were back home at about 8. Although you were very sleepy, we started opening your gifts. My god ! so many presents you got. So many remote operated cars including the pokemon car, remote operated robot, foot push bike, balls, mugs, hot wheels !! and what not. Some of the gifts we are still to open. We had you open the presents and every time you said thank you to the people who gifted them. Mumma and papa recorded the thank you messages and sent out through their cell phones. Dadu and Dadi bought your clothes for the party and mumma and papa got you kinetic sand and moulds. You are still to open them.

You slept so well! We were so happy that you had a fun filled day. Our day is made if your day is made! Will post pictures of your birthday now.

Love you

Papa !!

How will i do it !

Dear Rishu

As a kid, i used to be always excited to vista my baba and dadi and all uncles in Gwalior. As i remember, the idea of fun for my uncles most of the time was irritating me and over powering me with their physical might (not that they did not love me, but yes, their idea of fun was to tease). I use to struggle to set free. As a kid, it would irritate me when it got over the nose. One day (when i was about 9 years old), i retaliated with my eldest uncle and hit him back. What did he do? Within the flick of a second he slapped me hard on my left cheek with his right hand. I have never forgotten that slap. Its still fresh in my memory. I don't know what good it brought, but it created a distance between him and me. Someone i used to be excited to see, i naturally stopped looking forward to- although i could not avoid him, for as a child i was told that i should not hit elders. I grew up with the  understanding that i should not have hit him, but as i grew up, i realized, he was wrong. But as a kid i was naturally avoiding him - not a conscious choice, i swear! Similar episodes happened with other uncles during my next 2 visits (don't remember those so well). I don't think i can ever do that to you. But if it does happen, i want you to know that there was something horribly wrong that must have happened, and my sole purpose to do it  would be to keep you off that in the future- for your own good. I wish as a child i had understood this when my parents told me. Although i got a lot of bashing and hits from my parents, i don't completely agree with their ways!

I want you to know, i will always love you and care for you and look after you, no matter what wrong you did. Don't be scared to speak to me on anything. I will be like your friend. If i stop you from doing something (which i will seldom do), just humor me and my judgment without your judgment.

You have turned 3 last week. We had a great party at Milk. I will post you on this soon. Got to take you out for your first Mumbai local train ride. Cooook Cooooooooookk!!

Papa!
